BMW F 700 GS
Competition ICA and Munich run for cover. After the BMW F 650 GS and have updated the BMW F 800 GS, here is that the family of the best-selling German adventurer family expands with a new displacement: BMW F 700 GS.
In the segment of road adventure from Japan came a.. hondata new models of middle displacement rather than price as Honda NC content 700X (6,700 euro, euro 7,700 version with dual-clutch gearbox) and the largest Honda Crossrunner (11,085 euros).
BMW Motorrad responds to the rhymes and catchy and trendy name GS Associates fair numbers which are those of average engine displacement, synonymous with agility, lightness, versatility and, equally important, operating costs (more) contentui. Here thus the BMW F 700 GS.

BMW engine F 700 GS
The reliable Paralleltwin was made available to the F 700 GS. The four-valve twin cylinder water cooled 798 cc engine delivers a power of 75 PS (55 kW, 4 HP more than the GS 650) to 7,300 rpm and 77 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm (2 Nm).
The two-cylinder is equipped with electronic fuel injection, catalytic converter and six-speed gearbox and is characterized by a prompt response and its traditional versatility that has made appreciable the baby of the family GS.
For new drivers until 25 years the F 700 GS is also available in versions with a reduced power output of 48 bhp (35 KW) at 7,000 rpm and a torque 60 Nm at 5,000 rpm (as expected from the increased power limit for new drivers in the European Union is valid starting from 01.01.2013).

ABS, ESA and ASC for the F 700 GS
The front is fitted with a dual disc brake from 300 mm with 2-piston floating caliper at the rear a single hydraulically operated by 265 mm with 1 piston floating caliper at. To make it even safer braking system we think the BMW Motorrad ABS as standard, can be deactivated.
Also new in this segment, BMW F 700 GS has at the request of the electronic suspension Adjustment ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment). The system allows the rider to adjust the handlebars by pressing a button.
This varies the lengthening phase damping rear suspension with three configurations: Comfort, Normal or Sport, depending on the road surface and driving style. In addition, and optimized handwheel to adjust the spring base, so as to make it more comfortable nell.uso.
Another acronym pilot available upon request, ASC (Automatic Stability Control). The optional rule stability and prevents unwanted slipping of the rear wheel during acceleration.
The ASC ensures that a more efficient power transmission and, consequently, a greater driving safety. If you do not want the invasiveness of the system, the pilot can turn it off by pressing a button, even while driving.

New commands and extended information.
In the new F 700 GS is mounted the latest generation of BMW Motorrad commands. MID technology (MID = Molded Interconnect Design; printed at checkpoints conducted individual cables) commands are much more compact and stand out to offer new functions, a clean design and optimal ergonomics.
The indicator functions of left and right, separated in the past, were joined in a unique function on the left side of the handlebar. The emergency lights ignition occurs through a separate integrated command, clearly visible on the left handlebar. The high beam and low beam have been combined into a single command that lets you activate comfortably with the left index finger.
The dashboard includes speedometer and tachometer analogicim arranged one above the other, with a new design of the dial for readability of the speed and the rotational speed of the engine. In addition, the display of serial information indicates to the driver the fuel level and coolant temperature.

Design of BMW F 700 GS
The new F 700 GS enjoys a clean look but with a marked side fairing and dynamic. It has a small footprint in the front seat area and ensures optimal contact with the ground, and a standing position that doesn’t require you to widen your legs too.
The low centre of gravity (820 mm from the ground, ridcubile to 790 mm) and wide handlebar allow you to keep tabs on the bike in the off-road.
BMW F GS 700 is available in three new colours: Red apple metallic, metallic Ostragrau and Glacier silver metallic.
The magazine front and the beak is typical of GS: the element has been completely redesigned and offers improved protection against splashes. On request it is possible to mount a windscreen which integrates with the design of the bike, more style

It was brought to think that special spend a peaceful “life”: a maximum of around for some show, always warm and sheltered in the stralucidi garage, see light only at the weekend. Well, for sure this is not the case. The work of the Wrenchmonkees that we present is designed to engage on the roads of the Maghreb. It all began with the request of Thierry, who lives in Mauritania: wanted a simple, reliable, easy to maintain (given the lack of garages in the area …).

The boys have now located the WM obvious solution in an old two-valve BMW: why is robust and reliable, suitable for (occasional) in off-road. So they took a R100RT and have undergone a complete restoration. The rear chassis was shortened, alloy wheels with spoked wheels replaced by 18 “front and rear. Were installed a new front fork and shock absorbers to worry on sand dunes. The engine and Carburetors have been overhauled, with the addition of a K & N air filter and a larger oil cooler.

The R100RT was finally subjected to a complete rewiring and features a heavy duty battery, new Odyssey also front and rear lights. The R100 series tank was replaced with one from an old BMW6, to give the bike a more slender, old-school style. Floorboards Tarozzi, sostiuiti also the bearings and seals. The old colossus was subjected to a strict diet and restorative break. Now that is ready to tackle the African dirt.

If possible is even more powerful, we speak of the BMW R 1200 R to which the redesign adds a most powerful boxer engine and tiling with a version that is more style, the BMW R 1200 R Classic, basically the differences from the normal version are all spoke in circles rather than forged, alloy exhaust manifolds that are entirely and rear-view mirrors chromates adopted a chrome look. What does not change is the mechanics and the boxer engine.

The engine has been updated in some detail and strengthened for BMW R 1200 R Classic, inspired by the BMW HP2 Sport with a double overhead camshaft, cylinder capacity is 1,170 develops an output of 110 horses that arrive at 7,750 rpm with a maximum torque of 119 Nm at 6,000 rpmthe performances are more loose with the maximum RPM range fairly high.

Other distinctive element of the BMW R 1200 R Classic colors to contrast. In fact the restyling leaves unchanged the tendency of the BMW R 1200 R to be a sports bike, giving it instead to the BMW R 1200 R Classic to follow the style.

In common they have the comfort and undeniable beauty, three options for the height of the saddle (77, 80 and 83 cm from the ground), plus a chance to get an extra low height 76 cm. BMW R 1200 R is that BMW R 1200 R Classic are ideal for making long trips accompanied by a great comfort. The Central and rear frame using lightweight materials, such as engine, so as to ensure maximum strength and rigidity.

The front suspension is the BMW Telelever in conjunction with a larger fork, at the rear, instead, sophisticated oscillating BMW Paralever swingarm schema.

Serial braking system with ABS and integrated stability control (ASC), a request for both BMW R 1200 R BMW R 1200 R Classic electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) that are necessary in view of the amount of both (the weight exceeding 220 kg).
We conclude with prices, BMW R 1200 R is of 12,650 euros, BMW R 1200 R Classic costs more, about EUR 13,550.

Were published some interesting and tasty spy photos on the new BMW R1250GS BMW also known as GS for the market probably in the course of 2013.

The pictures are not great but you can already get an idea, if nothing else, the basic design that designers have followed the group. There is little information on a technical level even though it seems confirmed that the twin that will equip this bike will be completely new.

Some rumors would like a liquid cooling for the unit even if boxers, from images, the absence of the radiator fins and the two heads would assume an air cooling.

BMW R1250GS transmission station located on the left and right as usual. Even this detail goes in the direction of a totally innovative and ready to impress.

The lines are derived from the aesthetics of the GS model although several interventions are quite evident. The design is more compact and provides a concrete and headlights with LED daytime and more angular lines than in the past. Another obvious point is the shape of the discharge, rather polygonal and great visual impact.

For now you must be content with these few pictures, but it is probable the hypothesis that in the coming months, many other details will be revealed. Just think of the next edition of EICMA, where this model will be presented to the public.
