The next generation of Ducati Superbike is near the last stage of its development, according to what an insider has revealed to the English site Visordown. It would have been shown to a select number of importers from different parts of the world. Although it is always difficult to distill the news from speculation, the new Superbike 2012 is the first fruit of result of indications of Valentino Rossi, although its development has begun well before the arrival of the Ducati rider in MotoGP.
The main novelty
Certainly, the new sport has a lot of big news. The name first of all “-square”, which identifies the basic characteristics of the new engine, which is supposedly a superquadro 1200cc V-twin engine. There is no question but that the shift drum system requires an update. New also bores passing from 106 mm to 112 mm in 1198 and revolutionized a frame, a monocoque body with integrated airbox – no more lattice then? – Derived from the MotoGP conil swingarm pivots. From across the border there’s also detailed information: For the engine it comes to 190CV (210 for the most extreme version) and a total weight of the bike less than 15 kg, with the new chassis. Whole new aesthetic for technical reasons
The new Ducati superbike of change even in the aesthetic: in fact, the engine must be turned counterclockwise to obtain a shorter chassis and a small tube angle. These solutions make us think about a bike very similar to the Aprilia RSV4 or BMW S 1000 RR.
