Yamaha T-Max is one of the maxi-scooter that did (and indeed are still doing) the luck of the Colossus of Iwata in the scooter segment, a sector which at present seems less affected by the current crisis in sales compared to the motorcycle industry, especially for motorcycles of engine capacity of between 300 and 500 cc.

Yamaha T-Max debuted in the two-wheeler market in 2001, when, in July last year, was premiered to the press just in Italy: the first version (2001-2003) and was presented with Mikuni a single front disc brake.

Since 2004 Yamaha has also adopted a policy of review and redesign of the maxi-scooter that has surely contributed to the success of its product: the first improvements includes the introduction of the electronic injection, a double disc brake front and plus a rear tire, which, together with new digital equipment and new colors, have consolidated the image of sportiness of the model.

All this of course has greatly contributed to the big launch a motorcycle that was found at the right time in the middle of a field (that of the maxi-scooter), which has seen a rapid rise to the need to move with relative ease in the increasingly chaotic urban centers.

To this must be added the last two revisions of the product: the first (2008) saw the introduction of a new aluminum frame, plus a front wheel and brake calipers the same as those adopted for the Yamaha R1 and R6 and also a renewal of the lines, while in 2009-2010 the house of the three forks took action on small technical and aesthetic details.

Once again the market has rewarded the choice of Yamaha and T-Max is one of the maxi scooter par excellence: its success and fame are definitely the result of his undoubted quality but also the marketing of the Japanese manufacturer and its capacity that it brought to market the right product at the right time.

Now there is talk of a new version of the scooter in 2012 and awaiting possible arrival of even a T-Max three-wheeled Piaggio MP3 directly challenge aspects that are certainly think that the success of this product will not fade any time soon and that if it will be heard for a long time despite the efforts (for now more or less space) competition to supplant it.
